Offering corrosion resistance as well as options for much finer hole diameters, stainless steel round hole perforated metal offers many advantages overmild steel round hole perforated metal.These advantages are the reason for the price difference between the two options; stainless steel perforated is generally more expensive than mild steel perforated. Our stainless steel perforated designs are available in both 304 and 316 stainless steel depending on the desired hole size, both of these grades of stainless steel are suitable for outdoor use and are corrosion resistant. The manufacturing process for stainless steel round hole perforated sheets is quite similar to that of mild steel, however the tooling used with stainless steel must be much more durable and powerful. This is the case because stainless steel is much harder to punch through than mild steel is, the tooling used for mild steel cannot be used with stainless steel as it will get damaged.
Some of the stainless perforated patterns with smaller hole sizes (such as our 3/32” to our .020” hole sizes) have been used for fabricating drum filtration systems due to their filtration capabilities and corrosion resistance. Stainless steel round hole perforated also lends itself to many applications similar to that of its mild steel counterpart such as millwork, railing infills, cabinetry, and other applications of similar nature. As mentioned before however, stainless steel is much better suited to outdoor environments than mild steel, resulting in a wider variety of uses when unfinished
