Ferrier Wire + Design Metals is excited to present our e-commerce portal which allows customers to browse, purchase and ship products online.
In the current era of online shopping and social distancing, it is important to offer our products to our customers for sale online. Our online portal has been designed to (hopefully) simplify the purchase of metal mesh, perforated metals, expanded metals, and other products from the convenience of your laptops, computers, and smartphones. We realize that it is not always easy to pick a product online. That’s why we offer to send you samples to help you make a decision (within reason).
Introduction to our E-commerce Portal
Our online portal is designed to work seamlessly with our website, making it easy for customers to place orders while browsing through our website. Most of our product pages have options to order online; all you need to do is enter the quantity of a particular product and hit the purchase button. If a product does not have a shopping cart icon at the left of the product row, it means that product is not currently available online. We are still working on adding as many products as possible online.
Shopping Cart and Payment Options
Once you input the quantity of a product that you wish to order and press the purchase button, the product gets added to your shopping cart (the “Purchase” icon changes to “Go to shopping cart” icon). You can access the shopping cart by clicking on this icon or by clicking on the shopping cart icon at the top right corner of the webpage. The shopping cart page allows you to update the order by changing the quantity of the product or deleting the product altogether.
Once you hit the checkout button, you will be directed to a page that will request your billing and shipping details. If you continue on from here, shipping options (if applicable) will be offered.
Our shipping options depend on the dimensions and the quantity of the products ordered. We have partnered with Dicom, Purolator, Canpar, and Loomis to deliver our products as efficiently as possible to customers across Canada. Please note that all couriers are incredibly busy at the moment due to unprecedented volume and expect delays. United States shipping options are currently being reviewed and may be offered in the future.
Not all items are available to be shipped due to dimensions, weight restrictions or quantities. For many products, the maximum size that can be economically shipped across Canada is a 36” x 48” piece. These pieces are sheared down from a standard 48” x 48” piece which is why the price for the 48” x 48” pieces available for pick up is the same as for the 36” x 48” piece which can be shipped. For the larger, heavier or greater quantities, please note that they are available for pick up only at our 170 Mulock Avenue location. We are also currently looking at expanding our shipping options to offer cross Canada shipping for these orders.
Once the shipping option has been selected and payment has been made, you will be emailed an invoice and a ship date by the end of the next business day (subject to holiday/summer/vacation hours). Shipping and tracking details will be sent once the order has been shipped.
Available Sizes and Customization
The minimum available size of products varies depending on the product that you wish to purchase. The smallest quantity or size of any item is listed on the site i.e. we do not offer smaller quantities than are noted. If you require more than 5 pieces of any product or larger sizes than are noted, please complete the custom size fields.
When you click the request information button, a pop-up appears that allows you to access the information request list. Please complete and submit.
We will reply to your request by the end of the next business day (subject to holiday/summer/vacation hours).
