Stainless Steel Weavemesh

Our stainless steel products lend themselves to a multitude of applications including filtering, wildlife control, railings, and concrete mesh. Our online catalog of stainless steel products includes both woven and welded wire mesh varieties that range from extremely rigid concrete reinforcement mesh to very fine mesh with thin gauge wire used for filtering and straining. Ferrier Wire mainly deals with 304 and 316 grade stainless steel. 304 stainless steel (also called 18/10 steel) is a food grade type of stainless steel that consists of 18% chromium and 10% nickel. 316 grade stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant and can be used in marine environments which may make it a slightly more expensive option. In comparison to mild steel, stainless steel tends to give off a brighter, more reflective finish that can lend itself to plenty of design applications. This is particularly useful in environments that have any sort of moist conditions as the material will not rust or corrode over time. Stainless steel mesh is particularly useful when it comes to drying racks or trays that are in contact with wet objects; any mild steel material would not work for this application as mild steel would corrode over time while stainless steel would not hence the price difference. 

Due to the chromium content in stainless steel, this also makes the material more heat resistant than other types of steel. Some of the applications for stainless steel materials include:
