Stainless Steel Dutch Woven Wire Mesh
Dutch woven wire mesh is a family of high tensile strength filter cloth that uses 2 different wire diameters. This stainless steel mesh consists of thicker wires running parallel to the length of the roll (warp wires) and thinner wires running across the roll (weft wires). These wires are woven in such a way that the weft wires running horizontally are actually touching each other, creating an extremely tight and strong woven pattern. Unlike other mesh patterns, dutch woven wire mesh does not have square openings that are flat along the material. Instead, dutch woven wire mesh has triangular, diagonal openings that run slanted along the material. These diagonal, triangular holes do not allow particles to travel straight through the material making it an excellent choice for various filtering applications.

The high tensile strength and extremely fine nature of dutch weave mesh makes it an extremely viable option for sifting applications where high amounts of pressure are present. Furthermore, all of Ferrier Wires dutch weave mesh is offered in either 316 or 316 L grade stainless steel, making the material corrosion resistant and suitable for sifting applications in harsh marine environments.
It is worth noting that the mesh count (number of openings per inch) is higher along the length of the roll compared to the width, as there are more weft wires than warp wires in the design.
Our stainless steel dutch woven wire mesh can also be measured using a nominal micron rating. One micron is equal to 0.001 mm (0.0000394 inches). The nominal micron rating represents the smallest particle size that the mesh will catch in general usage.
The filtration capabilities of dutch woven wire mesh can also be measured through the absolute micron rating which determines the maximum spherical particle size that can pass through the mesh.
