Specification Sheet Spotlight: Part 2
In our previous blog post, we highlighted four perforated metal patterns that are now available with specification sheets. We continue this series with the following four decorative expanded metal patterns:
- 1/8” x 1” RES (Round End Slot)
- ½” Hexagon
- ½ Square
- 1.00 Square
1/8” x 1” RES (Round End Slot)
Constructed out of cold rolled steel, this pattern has a 16 ga and 13% open area. Its sheet size measures to 4’ x 8’ and can be sheared to size. Common applications of this decorative expanded metal include radiator covers, built in cabinets, infill panels and privacy screens. It weighs 1.55 lbs/sf, with the 1” dimension parallel to the 96” dimension of the sheet.

½” Hexagon
This .500” hexagon x .562” pattern resembles a beehive and weighs 0.53 lbs/sf. It has a thickness of 16ga with a 79.0% open area. You can find this pattern as a radiator cover, a built-in cabinet or as infill panels.

½ Square
The ½ square pattern is your standard uniform square pattern that can be sheared to size. Like the patterns above it has a thickness of 16 ga and can be used in radiator covers, built in cabinets, infill panels and privacy screens. It is made of mild steel (unfinished) with custom plating and powder coating options.

1.00 Square
The 1.00 square is 1” square x 1-14 made with cold rolled steel. It has a thickness of 16ga with an open area of 64%. It weighs .90lbs/sf. It also shares a sheet size of 4’ x 8’ and can be used for millwork, cabinetry and infill panels.

All of the decorative expanded metal patterns above can have sheets sheared to size.
